My understanding is that the Rabies shot is not given until at least 16 weeks. In California , there is a law . It is the only vaccine that is required for dogs to have. If they do not have it and bite someone, the dog has to be tested. It is done on the brain of the animal .
My Suzi had hers done at about 20 weeks. SHe did fine. the only thing she did was sleep for a long time.
Check you local State laws. Also, it is best to have the vaccine given separtely from any others. I do think it has to do with the size of the dog. AND if the dog has a sensitive immune system or allergies.
