I just think the benefits are so great and the retirement and everything is something not to ignore. I wish I'd done it when I started out in nursing; I was just such a scaredy cat at having to leave home.....dumb! But I didn't have children either.

You do have the advantage of knowing the system though and it seems like a great opportunity~ there's always give and take for every situation though. And it helps to go into something like this with the right attitude and no reservations, b/c it's a big commitment, like you say.

Are there any scholarships you might be eligible for at the school you're going to?

Good luck to you whatever you decide.
The deployments really worry me, but I am really worried about how our life will be when my husband gets out, if he isn't able to get a decent job with good health care...I don't know what we would do. I don't want him to re enlist again though because it isn't getting us any where. Where if I went in, I would come out as an r.n with experience and could get a great job. It is really hard to get scholorships out here or grants because there are sooo many low income people in this area, it is very competitive.
Well hopefully the recruiter will contact me soon so I can get information.
