Default Shaving the ears

Wrigley is 3 months old and his ears are not standing up yet... I asked the vet what things we can do at home to help them to stand up and he proceeded to tell me that Yorkie's ears do not usually stand up..... obviously he doesn't know about Yorkies

I know that when my parents bred German Shepards they had to massage them to help them stand up, but I don't know if it is the same for Yorkies.

Anyways I was thinking of doing the shaving method, is this something I can do at home or something a groomer has to do? And if I can do this at home, how do I go about doing it? I know that you are suppose to do it in a V, but other than that is there any certain type of razor I can use, one that I shouldn't use?

Any other advice?
