Gavin is only 6 weeks so not near as old as yours. Gavin will sleep great as long as we are holding him. The minute we put him in his crib he wakes up instantly. I don't get it. I have let him cry and hubby can not stand to hear a crying baby. We have got to stop picking him and just let him cry it out or it is just going to get worse. We have had a radio playing in his room ever since he started sleeping in his crib at 2 weeks every night and at naps. However, naps are usually in his swing in the living room with the tv on. I think the noise helps cover up other sounds as not to wake him. Anyway, when he wakes up after putting him in the crib I will make the shhhhh sound over and over again and pat him on his leg and that sometimes will work to get him to sleep. Us moms just have to be strong and let them cry until they get it.
