I agree that breeders shouldn't hike up their prices just because a dog is a "designer breed" and has a cute name, but on the other hand - I don't think it's fair to insult the people who intentionally buy these dogs. It's really their business how much they want to pay for a puppy. I know lots of people who paid well over $1000 for their purebred Yorkies. Biddy is a mix and if I knew then what I know now I would have paid over $2000 for her. I didn't pay that much for her - but the amount of love I have for her is invaluable. I think the value of a dog is equal to the amount of pleasure you get out of it, regardless of breed. For me they are priceless.
