Hannah,

I don't have that problem with General Patton, but have had it for years with Bella, my Smooth Fox Terrier. Two weeks ago, when I posted about the General eating Bella's poop, I began to use a water spray to use to discourage this behavior. I am now using the sprayer with water each time Bella does what I call "nuisance barking". It seems to be working. At first, she stayed away from me for a few minutes, but now she just moves away but she stops the barking. I make sure to spray immediately after the nuisance barking. And what is funny is when I don't happen to have the sprayer, I use my hand as though I do, and she knows what it is that I pretending to do, hehe. Seriously, it has cut it down almost completely and this is great because she is a Smooth fox terrier, which I think is more difficult to train.

Good Luck.
