Has anyone had this done and could you tell me how your post op went. I am giving her Metacam for pain per the vet but I think she may need it more than once a day. She is 5 pounds. Also giving her Keflex antiobiotic he says for three days for infection purposes.

Any input on what to expect as it is one day post op. She is managing to go on wee wee pad and she is eating well so that is great.

Do you think I could leave her in her pen by Monday for a few hours at a time. She is not that active to begin with and will probably just sleep as she does pre-surgery when I'm gone.

Thanking all in advance for any help and advice.

Very nervous mom!

Gracie stayed in her pen after bilateral LP surgery. She did have issues with pain control at first. Don't hesitate to call your vet and ask for more pain meds. If your baby is listless and shaking, your baby is probably in pain. This is major surgery. They need lots of TLC. Hope your little one is feeling better soon. You can search the sick and injured forum, putting my YT user name into the search box. I have a couple of threads in there with a day-in-the-life account of what my poor little Gracie went through during her post op period. It still breaks my heart to look at those pictures!
