Default Watch out for this one...

I bought a puppy from her a few months ago, and though I absolutely adore my dog, I wish I'd chosen a different breeder. When I first started looking into this woman, I couldn't find any negative comments about her. Now, though...well, they're popping up.

As for my own experience: Carrie Sawyer claimed that the puppy I'd chosen was just over two pounds. When I went to the airport to claim her, however, I instantly realized that she was at least twice the promised size (she turned out to be slightly larger than twice). I no longer care, of course--as I said, I'm attached--but size is a factor when buying breeds like this, and I wouldn't have purchased this particular puppy if I'd known the truth. I've since heard from others who have experienced the same problem with this woman--one lady claims that she received a different dog entirely--and it's become obvious that she's not an honest breeder.

On top of that, within three days, my puppy started showing symptoms of an illness that had her vomiting and foaming at the mouth. She couldn't even keep water down, and I had to rush her to the animal hospital. My vet spent hours upon hours trying to save my puppy and only succeeded after he'd spent thousands of dollars in medicine and care. She nearly died twice, and she had to be on a special diet for quite some time after. My vet explained that the puppy had an intestinal virus that could only have come from the breeder's kennels.

I will admit that my puppy seemed absolutely healthy when she arrived, and this virus could have been dormant for weeks before she came to me, but even so...watch out for this one.
