I took Mollie in yesterday for what I thought was going to be a tooth extraction and possible cleaning. The vet called a few hours later and told me Mollie had possible pyometria(sp) she start bleeding a little over the weekend. So they kept her overnight with some antiobotics IV's and they are going to do her procedure this morning spaying & tooth extraction. But, this vets office is an emergency clinic from 7pm to 7am so I didn't mind leaving her as much because I knew there would be someone there with her all the time.
The doctor is doing the procedure early enough in the day that I should be able to pick her up this afternoon. This is the second dog that she has spayed for me, and I was able to pick up my Lab later on in the afternoon. She believes if it's possible for the animal to go home that same day that it is better for them to be at home with their families.
Sorry this is so long. Good luck with your spaying, I would just address my concerns to the vet and tell them what you would rather do and see what they say. You can always take her somewhere else that would let you bring her home that afternoon to be with you. |
