suppliments I can only pass on to you what I have learned from other breeders. No artifical calcuim before whelping. I feed cottage cheese, American cheese, yogart, even vanilla pudding or ice cream in small amounts to provide calcium.
I am told calcuim pills during gestation can cause parathyorid problems...after whelping you give calcuim pills...but I crushed them up. I used to find polka dotted poop...calcuim pills were passing through their systems undigested. I stopped using pills a few years ago and went to TUMS. One half crushed in food in the AM and another half in the PM..works for my girls.
I give them all the food they want with calcuim in it..your girl has 3 pups, which is not a huge litter to drain her reserves, but it can happen of she is not a good eater or makes too much milk.
Brewers yeast can not hurt, whether it helps for milk producing is something I do not know..people used to use it to prevent flea problems.
Lots of good wishes for happymom and babies. |
