Did the vet mention anything about colitis? It seems very similar to something that happened to Layla last year... I woke up one morning to find pools of blood and diarrhea all over the living room floor. I called the vet, almost crying, and took her in right away. The vet thought she had colitis and gave some antibiotics and by the next day there was no blood, and within a couple of days her stools were back to normal. I believe colitis is caused by bacteria.
