Our Dr. Lucy waited until Toto was 8 months old to spay and remove her remaining baby teeth [quite a few]. She absolutely would not spay until she was either 6 months or 2 lb. ... she wasn't 2 lb. until she was 8 months. Dr. Lucy said in the smaller Yorkies, the "spay by 6 months rule" didn't have to be adhered to. Good luck ... I personally feel that it's better to wait than to risk putting them under twice.
