As you stated, there is alot of risk. Many people feel strongly against breeding extremely small females (say, under 5 pounds). It's up to the individual if they want to 'hide what they are doing' but if they choose to share the information, then they need not expect overwhelming support and praise for it. My opinion as a general rule is that if you don't want people to comment on the situation, then it's best kept to yourself.
