Today is day 58....

She has been very restless and pacing. Not eating very much. Her temperature this morning was 99.6. This afternoon temp is 98.4. There is no sign of any contractions or any second stage labor. I have set everything up in our whelping room. I even put my coffee in there, a magazine and the charger for my cell phone. Called the vet to be "on call". Also,a friend who was a breeder for years, is on call. She is going to come over once labor begins to assist me (as this is my first with such a small dam).

Ok...so it is only day 58 - not 63....and I'm nervous. My vet, who is not crazy about breeding, is assuming it will be a c-section...he is the same vet that told me to start her on calcium 2 weeks ago. Thanks to YT I didn't! I think I'm going to use my breeder friend and my gut instinct before running for a c-section. I do have to give the vet credit for being concerned-he has called every hour to check on her..........he means well.
