Thats their terrier killer instinct coming out
My Staff Bull Terrier does it too! But my OESD just lies there on the floor (in the way as usual lol!) and watches them, then he'll give me this look as if to say "what in the world" he has absolutely NO killer instinct in him AT all LOL!!!
