It is not allowed in the UK for a reason and I suggest you did not do it as if you go back to the UK with a docked tailed dog you are in for a long hard life of explaining why. Your vet in the Uk will know as will your nieghbour and some may not play nice.....Just a thought.

What the others have said and at this late date it a loss of a limb and they are going to know it. If it for health reasons great like caught in a fan or run over or what ever and there is no choice go for it.

A tail is what a dog used to talk to other dogs and it hard if they have had it to not understand why all of a sudden the dogs he playing with no longer understand him.

Just thoughts but he is your dog do as you wish.
