Call the vet and see what they recommend you do in your specific situation, for your specific furry. I don't trust PetMeds or any of the others. They often sell outdate meds.
As far as getting my dogs to take pills, which I unfortunately have to do at least twice per day, I use pill pockets. They work very, very well because they're sort of a treat, but others have given good suggestions too. You don't need to spend money on pill pockets. I just don't have much choice because Jasmine is an incredibly picky eater. You can wrap the pill in anything your dog will eat that isn't harmful to them. (Someone suggested cheese).
