That is awful. My best friend's mother has rescued dogs for years. A long time ago, they got a papillion from a "breeder" who had small children that they allowed to just torment the dog and never made them stop. She was so terrified and hated the world when they got her. It took a long time, but she has recovered and loves everyone now, even most small children.
