2.5 pounds sounds like an XXS. My Sapphire is 4 lbs. and she's an XS, my Brandi at 6 lbs. is a S, and my Gellica at 8.5 lbs is a M. Hope this helps!!

Also, if you can't find anything in stores in that size, there's lots of people here that custom make clothes for our babies.
