Is there a particular reason you aren't using a preventative such as frontline on him? Since the advent of those products...our lives have been flea free. Preventatives also kill the eggs.
None of the treatments you are using on him or in the house...kill the eggs. What you are seeing are new fleas that have hatched.
Previously with fleas in my carpet...I treated it with boriac acid. It's a powder and routinely used in horse barns. You sprinkle it on the carpet and brush in with a wisk broom. It works almost instantly or at least overnight.
