We were in the same predicament awhile ago...Miko has a compromised liver and has a history of HE (causing neurological symptoms), so we weren't sure if we should get him a playmate. On one hand, we thought it would be good for him and maybe the other pup would keep him cheerful, especially since he is best friend's with my mom's dog, and they loooove to play together...On the other hand, we didn't want to take any attention away from him or make him feel like he wasn't as important....
When he was almost 3, we decided to go ahead and get another furbaby, and we are happy with our decision. She keeps him on his toes!
We got Emma right before Miko was going to have a surgery...When we brought him home from the vet hospital, she immediately gravitated to him and cuddled with him. She would lick his face gently and lay with him...We knew right away that we had made the right decision...
