How's Bernie today?
I did ask my vet for an actual pain killer (ie, prescription level) for Marcel when he had his 7 teeth pulled. I was really clear with her that I didn't want him feeling mouth pain - and she was in full agreement. She gave me meds to give 2-3x a day for pain - for I think the first 5 days after the surgery. Usually vets are very open to pain managment bc pain is not good for healing - if they're not open to it, I'd probably wonder about that. (I could call that vet for you - I mean, I DO have PMS right now!)
