I do know someone who successful trained their dog....not a yorkie...not to go past the perimeter of his property. It required walking the dog while leashed and correcting her every time she ventured past the imaginery line. I lived next door to him for 10 years...never once did she ever leave that yard.

So it can be done.....however, even the best trained dogs sometimes can't ignore the temptation of a passing dog, kid on a bike, etc. If you don't want her necessarily on a leash...I'd purchase a long lead. It would be so heartbreaking if a tragedy occurred that is so easily prevented.
