When he was a puppy I did leave the radio on but he couldn't have cared one way or the other. He had seperation anxiety and I did purchase a couple
of things to help. The plug in, which emits a smell like the mother, I think helped some. He barked terribly. Then I found coins in a can worked like
magic. That is really the only thing that made him stop barking. Today he
just wines softly when I close the door. He sleeps, I would guess, because
he touches nothing, not even a treat, until I open the door.

Then we both do a happy dance like nuts.

It takes time but they do
adjust to your lifestyle. It is so important to give them time in the am
before you leave. I have been sitting on the floor, drinking coffee for four
years from 6:30-7:00 am playing with him. I get up 1/2 hr earlier for him.
They need their bonding time before you leave them for long periods.
