I was born in Ca and moved back from Alaska the summer before my senior year. Lived in southern Ca the whole time until 2 years ago my fiance & I moved up to Northern Ca. We are moving out of state because the cost of living is ridiculous, not to mention the ridiculous laws in this state. The ONLY good thing about the state is the weather. I lived in San Diego for a year and have to say that's my favorite part of the state and if I had to recommend one city in the state, that would be my recommendation. I have to warn you though (and I'm sure you've researched) it's gotta be one of the most expensive places to live in the country... I lived in a studio apt for the year I was down there and my rent was $900/month. And it wasn't even in the 'nicest' part of town either... I have a very good friend who lives there now in who's renting (I can't imagine anyone other than drs/lawyers can afford a house down there now) and is paying $1500/month to rent a 2 bedroom duplex... It's insane
