So glad to hear all is well. Do not have dew claws and tails done til those babies are 3 days old. I cannot remember names on here yet but the reasons have already been posted. And, the timing seemed okay for the individual puppies to be delivered.
And, yes, you must take the mom and puppies to the vet for checks. BUT, be sure to keep those babies warm and close to mom and do NOT open their cover for people to see or touch. Puppies are much too young for that and your babies could get in real trouble. I try to advise that the very nature of the vets' office means there are gonna be sick animals and you do not want the babies exposed.
Since this is your first litter, your babies have to be checked for hernias, cleft palate, and heart sounds and other physical problems.. This should be done by your vet. The mom might need a shot of oxytocin-that depends on the vet and what he feels when he palpates the mom's tummy. He can also help with expressing milk from the teats.
I am not being mean but I want to advise that you find a really good mentor to help with this litter if possible and certainly, to mentor you in the future. Primrose Pat was the most valuable person in my breeding life and now I am trying to pass on some of the knowledge that she gave me.
Give those babies wee smoochies from Rini and the crew.. And, CONGRATS!
Feel free to PM me if you think I could be of help in any way..
