I'm a fairly new owner as well. I picked up my furbaby at the end of March this year and could understand your concerns. You should definitely bring him to vet within the first few days to make sure that they do a complete comprehensive exam. They will check his ears, temperature, heart beat, overall physical, and fecal exam (so make sure you save one of his poop in a small plastic container). Hope this helps!
