I divorced a man that did not understand my attachment to the dogs and the love of showing and training them. No, we did not divorce because of the dogs, rather over other issues, but I am getting re-married in a few weeks to a man that was one of my students when he brought his dog through the obedience class I teach once a week. He had (still has) a cattle dog and started showing her in agility and then started going with me to the breed and obedience shows and now his cattle dog also has an obedience title, he has now finished more papillon breed champions than me LOL, and he is "specialing" a papillon for a dear friend. Life is much more satisfying with a partner that loves the dogs like I do.

But do not give up on your husband, he may very well come around. Some things really *are* more important than dogs. Has he ever wanted a pet of his own? Maybe if he had his own dog or other pet he would understand the bond better.
