My cousin's wedding is this Saturday, and in anticipation of seeing EVERYONE in my family again, I decided to highlight my hair last night. I've done this many times before, and I have it down to a science. My hair is very very dark, so I start out with a highlighting kit. I put on the cap, pull the hair through, and then bleach it. I keep the cap on while washing it out, and then I dry the bleached part and put a color on it. It usually works out great! I end up with my dark hair and caramel highlights. WELL, last night I finished washing all of my hair, looked at it in the mirror, and freaked out! The bleach had gotten through the little holes in the cap and made little spots all over the top of my head!!!!! My hair was parted in the middle so that's pretty much where the damage is.
I pulled my hair back today to cover up the spots, but I think after work I'm going to go find a cheap dark dye and try to cover up the spots myself. I just refuse to pay insane amounts of money to go to a salon! I really hope it turns out okay. I'm not sure how I can get just the bleached areas without it touching the good highlights underneath.
