Could you try crating him or putting him in another room where he can see you but not be 'near' you while you are on the phone or computer? Maybe that will let him know that he will not die without your attention for a few mins. I have a boy who is very mom needy, but hes not vocal about it. I can wash dishes and talk on the phone but hes usually jumping up on my leg OR laying in my lap if Im sitting.
