I do NOT agree with leaving her alone to whelp the puppies on her own. There are too many problems that can and do arise quite often. The mom needs you there during the whelping process incase theres a breach birth problem, dry birth, stuck puppy etc etc.....I never leave mine alone and I assist them during whelping whether its coaxing, cutting cords, helping remove a stuck placenta etc. etc..
