I'm not talking about a full-blown tonic-clonic seizure - this could be an "absence" seizure or a simple-partial (both of which can look similar to what you described) - that's why I asked about the simple ticks etcetera. There are several types of seizures, not just the ones most people associate with the full blown type. It's just something to consider in case this returns and sugar/food doesn't bring him out of it (like it sort of didn't this time). Here is a link:
