You are so right. Most of the time, fighting dogs of any breed are put down immediately because they can't find homes for them. I think this was high profile and a lot of people came forward. In any other case, the dogs would probably have been put down quickly. On Animal Cops, they always say how sad it is that they have to put down fighting dogs (pit bulls) because they can't find homes for them. This case was very unusual rather than the norm.
