Personally I would only keep him in the crate at night when it's time to sleep. You ought to consider purchasing a play/exercise pen where he has enough room to walk around, play, eat his food/water, use the potty on a pee pee pad etc. I just bought my baby one and it's panels are 36" high and 24" wide and it's plenty big for him! He loves it! I bet Wookie would be thrilled if you gave him some more space to keep himself busy in!
