It is horrible and happens way too often. I too find it hard to beleive that one would not know their child is in the car. But I would hate to think that anyone would be that cruel to do it deliberately.
I think it is one more tragedy that can be blamed on cell phones. Heck when I talk on my phone when going to a store, I almost never remember where I parked my car.
Parents need to be made aware of the dangers of allowing work to distract them from their main duty, PARENTING.
There should be something set up with the day care and schools that if a child is not dropped off by a certain, the daycare calls the parent. or a string that can be attached from the childs carseat to the parent to remind them.
Certainly someone can devise some dort of reminder, like they have for leaving your keys in the car. |
