It sounds as if the time has come to let him go. He's must be suffering. I've had a couple of dogs in somewhat the same situation and kept them comfortable at home as long as possible, but the wait is excruciating for them. My last dog got so he could not get around and he was too big and too heavy for me to lift in and out of the house or car. So I had my husband help me lift him into the car for his last ride to the vet. He couldn't get out there without our help either or walk when he got into the office. I asked that the vet please put him to sleep as he was in such pain and distress. He passed away very peacefully. I am so glad that I could do this to end his suffering. Sometimes persevering is crueler than ending their suffering. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Boo Boo. |
