I agree....he could be going under. You would be surprised at how small a space they can get through! There's a little 4 x 4 hole in the kickboard under my dishwasher and my grown Siamese cat squeezes in there all the time. And one of my Yorkies climbs over our gate allllll the time. The others just stand on the other side and bark their heads off until I come to let them out.
