It is true that you have to be somewhat mentally ready. I think it helps to pick a quit date that coincides w/something special- mine was oct 6th two days b/f my b-day. Also I had help from wellbutrin & committ lozenges mint (I smoked menthols so this helped alot). Another thing is to try & not do things for awhile that are to hard to resist wanting to smoke- For me it was my morning coffee-I wanted that cig really bad w/my coffee so I had to change somethings up for awhile until I adjusted. I do really like in louisiana now there is no smoking allowed in restuarants which I think is a step in the right direction.
