I notice in another post that you listed Olie's birthday as 12/24/08 and that would make him 2 days short of 8 months, he is still a puppy. Most people do not attempt to breed their males until they are at least a year old. Your little boy is still growing and developing and is too young to be expected to breed. While some males do mature faster, the smaller males take a little more time. How old is your friend's female? It is advisable that the female be bred on her second heat or close to 18 months to two years of age. Olie might be more ready next time.
