That really sucks that the people aren't talking to you. There's no need to be rude!
I think you should just let it be. The dog sounds like it's happy now and so is the family. I say you just drop the paperwork off at their house and move on. Get you another dog and just be happy w/ him.
And, it does sound like "Double J Kennel" is a puppy mill.......
