I agree with Nancy that there's no compelling reason for you to remove them unless they seem to be causing a problem. If you wanted to take him back to the vet to have him remove them, it's unlikely that they'll charge you. When a vet does surgery, the price of any necessary followups is usually included in what you pay at the beginning.
