But I can't say for sure that it's bad. I only use tear-free puppy shampoo on my dogs, even though they aren't puppies. There are some human shampoos that are specifically recommended not to use on dogs, but I don't know about Pantene in particular.
I'm surprised your vet would have recommended weekly bathing. Excessive bathing is one of the most drying things you can do. Did he recommend a specific shampoo or coat conditioner, or any supplements?
