I have two English, one French and one Irish friend that all married military men and moved to the States when they were quite young. They left all their friends and families and were very sad and scared. As time went on they each started raising a family of their own and of course went back to their countries to visit as often as they could. They ended up with kids, lots of relatives and friends and a new and wonderful life and was very very happy.
So you see, it really doesn't matter where you live because you can have a life and happiness as long as you have friends, family and love.
