I thought maybe he doesn't like his bowl, because we found that bowl in the cat section because it's a smaller bowl, and it's not the bowl. He drinks his water without a problem. The food however, he'll sniff it and walk way.  |
how old is he and how big is he?
I would consider changing food brands while he is young. Iams is not a good food contrary to popular belief... neither is Mighty Dog. Your breeder is right.. he is still adjusting. Layla would only eat out of our hands aswell when she first came home. It took a few weeks for her to feel secure so give him a bit to adjust.. if that is how he wants to eat for now.. that's ok... but within a week or so start demanding he eat out of his bowl. he might need you to sit with him at first and put his food on the floor as a transition.
