My first yorkie I got 8 years ago from Bluebonnet YTC rescue in Dallas.Rocky was 6 years old. It was love at first sight. He ws a bigger yorkie, about 10 pounds, and followed me every. I've always had dogs in my life, even raising and showing Norwegian Elkhounds, but I totally fell in love with yorkies. I didn't know alot of about them, and when Rocky was 12, I took him to have his teeth cleaned and unfortunately, he died on the table. Looking back, I think they had him too deeply asleep and his heart just stopped. It almost killed me... and on my wedding anniversay to boot.

About 2 months later, I contacted the rescue again and adopted another yorkie.... but he wound up being a silkie terrier, 12 years old with MANY, MANY help problems, including diabetes, blind, etc. I had him a little over a year and had to put him down. I loved that little guy too. He was just the sweetest old man.

The young girl at the vet's office has a yorkie and she knew how much I loved mine and wanted another. So she told me about a friend of her aunt's who had a litter and did I want one. I immediately said YES!! I knew I'd have to work on DH, because we already had 2 dogs and didn't want more at this time. Well, anyway, I got Trevor for $200 and I think he is just the most wonderful thing in the world. Even though he didn't cost alot, he is a standard size, with beautiful coloring, etc.

For those of you who are looking for a yorkie, talk to your vet's office and see if they know of any yorkie clients that are having a litter. You never know what you might fine out.

Trevor may not have a long pedigree, although his dad did have papers, he's perfect for me.
