Did you go back to the vet to have an x-ray done to try to decide if the pup was too large?

If you are closely observing her behavior, you will notice a change in the way she acts before she starts to whelp. She may become very attached or super reclusive. Make sure her whelping area is near and help keep her in a calm environment. Some suggest taking the temp several times a day to look for a drop in temp, which is often an indication of it being 'time'--mine actually never had any fluctuation in temp though, so that is not always a sure way to tell.
