I tend not to use interuptors on dogs unless I can be sure they will not see me use it as it can cause fear... that said if you can spray them in a manner that it comes from the sky and they know not where and it works great to start but then teach then what to do or something else will pop up as you not taught then what to do.
So if they stop cause of the spray from the sky.... tell then nice quite and pass around the treats. so you do the stop action and then teach then what you want instead. if at any point you see them freeze at the sound of the spray you got fear developing you need to look at some way else to teach quite.
