There are two types of deposits...refundable and non-refundable. Why does "everyone" think a deposit is meant to not be given back? As stated...there is NO contract. And the money amount shouldn't matter.
Now tell me this...if you put thousands of dollars on say a car, and you changed your mind and there was a contract that stated you get your money back, would you take it back? Or would you say, "Hey, that's what deposits are for. You can keep my $3000." NO! Now say there wasn't a contract, would you fight for your $3000? I would.
There is NO reason why a deposit shouldn't be given back without a contract. As Pat said, it's easy to place Yorkies. What's the big deal? Please, someone tell me the benefit of keeping a deposit, other than having some money and the same dog to sell.
