Ok so he is still getting to know the ropes and you may not know what gone before.
Pull out the treats and reward him even asking and trying.
If he makes a mistake limit were. you know he is going to cause he is not pooping outside so keep him in the bathroom with a pee pad after he comes in until he poops and tell him good boy. if you can get him pooping to apad then you can work that pad to the door and then outside then on the grass and then no pad at all. Do not rush this it will take time for him to trust you and it his choice as to when.
