First of all, Can you move your arms? Can you lift your arms? My husband suffers from 2 herniated discs, no heat, ONLY if it is moist heat, you can get a shower and let the warm water hit the affected area, otherwise ice pack and motrin or advil,
unless you are allergic to ibuprofen, then you should NOT take any of those.If they are 200mg you can take up to 4 at one time (800mg) with some food, crackers, gelatin, a little something,just to avoid upset your stomach. Do not over do it, you should avoid using your cell,we tend to hold the phone with our ear and shoulder

.Try to sleep without a pillow and avoid heavy lifting.If there is not improvement in 24 hrs. you should seek med. attention
